With an encyclopedic knowledge of dance music, I've been a professional club DJ since 1996.
Playing weekly residencies for some of the UK's largest club chains, including Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi, Luminar Leisure, Revolution Bars, Bar Med, Po Na Na and various underground clubs such as The Pleasure Rooms in Leeds, DeJaVu in Hull, Back To Basics, The Bomb in Nottingham, and The Quarry in Lincolnshire.
During my club career, I've been fortunate enough to play alongside some of the biggest names in House and UK Garage, including Roger Sanchez, DJ Disciple, Graeme Park, tour dates with The Dreem Teem from Radio One, and supporting DJ EZ on the Pure Garage 4 national tour.
In 2000 with the rise in popularity of UK Garage and Urban music, alongside promotions company Renod Babek, I created a new club-night specialising in UK Garage and RnB called "Bodymoves", which was a successful night we rolled out to Luminar Leisure and Scream venues around the country, and attracted some big name guests from this genre.
My love for soulful house and garage music was extended into my own brand "Mirrorball" which I promoted and DJed at, around several bars and clubs in the Midlands and Yorkshire from 1999-2002. Including weekly residencies at Bar Med Lincoln and Leeds, Sugacubes, and Revolution bar in Lincoln.
I also extended my brands onto commercial radio, with "The Mirrorball Mix" being a regular late night weekend show on Viking FM for several years, before moving into more commercial dance music radio shows on both Viking FM and 96.3 Radio Aire, hosting the Floorfillers show, and being instrumental in the creation of CD albums, which regularly topped the national Top 40 Compilations charts.
I also hosted two weekly shows on the UK's first national digital dance-only station, Pure Dance, on Sky Digital, Cable and on-line from 2004-2006, hosting a peak time Saturday evening two hour mix show, showcasing the hottest new house music tracks, and interviewing artists such as Basement Jaxx, Eric Prydz, Harry "Choo Choo" Romero, DJ Sneak and the Chemical Brothers to name a few.
Also my retro dance music show "Dance Floor Anthems" was broadcast on Pure Dance on Sunday afternoons.
With the closure of Pure Dance, I took these shows to their current home, Rapture TV's radio service, Rapture Radio, and also simulcast across the RTI radio network in various European countries.
My DJ style has always been quite a roller-coaster, I find nothing more dull than DJs who play the same sound all night, I'm a big fan of building from emotional soulful vocal tracks, to jacking house, and filter disco anthems, at all times keeping my sets interesting.
I have uploaded many of my DJ mixes, some from live events, here on my site.
